Our Friends Gospel through Music

In Friends Church Kyenjojo we view music as Luther, music in the church functions as viva vox evangelii, as “living voice of the Gospel,” praising God and proclaiming His Word to the world. It does this, in part, as music is associated with texts that speak clearly and directly of Law and Gospel, of sin and salvation.

Our Friends Gospel Music Ministry mission is to reach the world for Christ, using the local and international language of music and vision of mobilizing short term music mission teams to share the gospel of Christ around the world through music.

Friends Church Kyenjojo raises its funds through friends gospel concerts such as hire of Friends Brass Band, Our Christian Music Academy, Friends Cultural troupe among others and all proceeds go to further the gospel of Christ.

As Friends Gospel Music Ministry we believe in;

The Bible

The Bible is the inspired Word of God, without error in both words and ideas and the final authority for our lives. It is God's written revelation to man, and thus the sixty-six books of the Bible given to us by the Holy Spirit constitute the plenary (inspired equally in all parts) Word of God. The Holy Spirit so superintended the human authors that, through their individual personalities and different styles of writing, they composed and recorded God's Word to man. (2 Peter 1:20-21, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, Hebrews 4:12, 1 Corinthians 2:7-14)

God

There is one true God, eternally existing in three persons; the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Isaiah 44:6, 1 Corinthians 8:6, Luke 3:21-22)

The Father

God the Father is Almighty and the Creator and Lord of heaven and earth. (Genesis 17:1, Genesis 1:1, Nehemiah 9:6, Deuteronomy 10:17, Isaiah 45:5, Ephesians 4:6)

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. He was crucified on a cross, died, was buried, and rose again physically from the dead, and will return physically in the future to rule and reign over the earth with justice and righteousness. Jesus is the only way to God. We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through the shedding of His blood and sacrificial death on the cross and that His death was voluntary, vicarious, substitutionary, propitiatory, and redemptive. (John 10:15; Romans 3:24-25; 5:8; 1 Peter 2:24, John 1:1, Colossians 1:15-17, John 3:16, John 1:14, Philippians 2:6-11, John 14:6)

The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine Person, eternal, underived, possessing all the attributes of personality and deity. The Holy Spirit was sent by the Father and the Son into the world and will convict sinners of their need of a Savior. At the moment a person believes in Jesus Christ for eternal life, the Holy Spirit regenerates, indwells, sanctifies, baptizes and seals them for the day of redemption. We believe that it is the work of the Holy Spirit to execute the divine will with relation to all mankind. (1 Corinthians 1:22, Ephesians 1:13-14, John 16:8, Romans 8:11, John 16:13)

Human Beings

Humankind was created in the image of God. He sinned and was separated from a relationship with God. All men are sinful, lost and are in need of the saving grace of God which cannot be merited by good works and cannot be experienced apart from personal faith in Jesus Christ. (Genesis 1:27, Psalm 51:5, Romans 3:10, Romans 3:23, 1 John 1:8-10, John 14:6)

Eternity/Salvation

Eternal life (Salvation) is granted by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ Jesus alone. There will be a future physical resurrection for all who believe in Jesus for eternal life. The Lord, Jesus Christ commanded all believers to proclaim the Gospel throughout the world and to disciple people of every nation. This is God's primary means for accomplishing His mission in the world. (Ephesians 2:8-9, John 3:16, Romans 10:9-10, Romans 6:23, Matthew 28:18-20, Revelation 21:4-8, Revelation 22:3-7)
